Editorial standards

Subvolts is built to be a better first stop, not a copy of the source. These are the rules it runs on.

AI disclosure

The summaries, analysis, key facts, jargon explanations, exercises and FAQ on item pages are written by an AI language model from the text of the original source. A human wrote the instructions the model follows and reviews the output in aggregate, not item by item. Every item page states how its summary was produced. Where the model could not run, the page shows a short extract from the source instead and says so.

Site copy such as this page, the about page, and the descriptions of lanes and categories was written by the publisher with AI assistance and reviewed by a person.

Sources

Official-lane items come only from the companies' own properties: their blogs, newsrooms, research pages, developer documentation, changelogs, YouTube channels and official social accounts. Web-lane items come from a fixed list of press, trade publications, newsletters and independent creators, chosen for track record and listed in full on the sources page. Resources come from investor relations pages, SEC EDGAR, patent records and official policy documents. Nothing is added to a lane without being added to that public list.

Syndication, not republication

Subvolts shows a headline, an image from the source, a short opening excerpt, and its own summary and analysis. It never republishes a full article, transcript or paper. Every item links to the original with a clear "Read this on" button that opens in a new tab. Outbound links identify Subvolts as the referrer so publishers can see the traffic.

Accuracy

The model is instructed to state only what the source says, to say less when the source is thin, and to never invent numbers, quotes or names. Summaries are fixed in length so they cannot drift into commentary. The hype score is a rating of importance, not a verdict on truth. Facts pulled into the key facts strip are checked against the source text by the pipeline where that is possible.

Corrections

Mistakes happen, especially with machine summaries. The corrections page explains how to report one and what happens next. Corrected items show an updated timestamp.

Independence

Subvolts has no relationship with any of the six companies it covers. Advertising on the site is served by a third-party network and does not influence what is covered or how it is ranked. Affiliate links, when present in Learn & Do, are marked.
