Evaluate AI political bias using everyday use cases
Develop and use evaluations grounded in how people naturally ask questions and explore ideas.
Create new evaluation methods that move beyond traditional tests (like multiple-choice compass tests) to assess political bias and objectivity. These methods should be grounded in everyday AI use, reflecting how users actually ask questions, explore ideas, and learn.
Assess balance, accuracy, and trustworthiness in practice, not just in theory, by observing model responses to naturalistic queries and learning scenarios.
Instead of asking 'Which political ideology do you align with?', evaluate how the AI responds when a user asks 'What are the main arguments for and against policy X?' and then asks follow-up questions exploring those arguments.
Traditional AI bias evaluations are insufficient. New methods should focus on how users naturally interact with AI to explore ideas, assessing balance and objectivity in real-world question-asking and learning scenarios.
