Evaluate LLM code generation end-to-end, not stage-by-stage
Assess LLM code generation by checking the final verifiable output, not just intermediate steps.
Evaluate LLM code generation end-to-end, not stage-by-stage.
Existing benchmarks often evaluate specification and code generation separately, overlooking whether strong performance in one stage translates to overall success. A better approach is to evaluate the entire process, from specification to verified code, to understand true capability.
Instead of just checking if an LLM can write a good specification, and then separately checking if it can write code from a given spec, test if the LLM can generate both the spec and the code, and then verify that the code meets the spec.
Focus on the complete LLM code generation process, from specification to verified code. Evaluating stage-by-stage can be misleading; end-to-end success is the true measure of capability for verifiable code.
