Settings > Capabilities (or Config > MODEL & OUTPUT in Claude Code)
To manage how Claude handles requests that trigger safety fallbacks, allowing users to choose between automatic model downgrades or paused conversations.
Configure Claude's automatic model switching. By default, Claude switches to a less capable model (like Opus 4.8) for high-risk cybersecurity requests. You can disable this to pause conversations instead, or manually switch back to Opus 5.
